KS1 Topics

ImageIn Key Stage 1 we are learning about ‘Houses and Homes’.

We have been studying our local village of Chawton and looking at all the different types of houses. We have found out the differences between different types of houses such as a flat and a cottage, a bungalow and a castle, a mansion and a Tudor house. We learnt what a detached house is as well as a semi-detached house and terraced houses.

We went on a walk around our village and recorded in a tally chart different houses that we could see. Then in art we made a collage of houses that make up Chawton and painted pictures of our own houses.

We will be making our own houses during our Design Technology project.
