CaterLink - School Meals

** We are a FISH and NUT free School **

Please ensure your child’s packed lunch DOES NOT contain FISH or NUTS, including prawn cocktail flavour crisps e.g. Skips.

Our school uses Caterlink to provide our school meals.  Caterlink meals are freshly prepared and made with Red Tractor/Farm Assured fresh meat. They are committed to using sourced ingredients with assured provenance from local and regional suppliers and use produce with high standards of animal welfare – for example, Free Range Eggs, fish that complies with Marine Stewardship Council (MSC) standards and a range of fair trade produce.

Their menus offer our children a variety of choices every day, with a meat, vegetarian or jacket potato option, a choice of dessert options, alongside an unlimited salad and pasta bar as well as a different bread option every day.

We look forward to working with them and exploring food choices that are child-centred and are also exciting and tasty!  The current menu can be downloaded at the bottom of this page!

Payment For Meals

Each meal costs £3.00 although children in Years R, 1 & 2 receive a free school meal.

Meals should be paid for in advance monthly, but we can accept payments on a daily or weekly basis. Payments can be made via Scopay, our online payment system.

Free School Meals

At Chawton Primary we aim to be a "NUT AND FISH FREE SCHOOL"  this means we ask all parents not to send their children in with nuts and/or fish and we do not give out nuts or fish products as snacks. This is to minimise the risks for any pupils with allergies.

Break time snack

All pupils are welcome to bring a healthy snack from home for the morning break time. This may include fruit or vegetables. Water may be drunk and access to fresh water is always available.  Please avoid giving your child squash or juice to drink as spillages cause a sticky mess!

Water

Plentiful drinking of water by school children has been recognised to improve behaviour and concentration. Therefore, all children are encouraged to bring a plastic water bottle for which they are responsible. Regular opportunities to drink water are given throughout the school day. Children are regularly reminded to drink water at break times.

Special Menu Requests

If your child requires a special menu due to a medical need (such as an allergy) you will need to submit a Special Menu Request and upload the medical evidence.  The link for the request form is here:  Special Menu Request

You do not need to submit a menu request for a Lifestyle Menu, such as a pork free or beef free menu.  In this instance, please let the school office know and we will request a menu for you.
