CSSG

What is CSSG?

The Chawton School Support Group is the school’s PTA, created to raise much needed funds to support whole-school activity and to host fun and engaging events for the children and their families.  We host a range of events throughout the year such as discos, cakes sales, quiz nights, second hand uniform sales, challenges and much more.

We are incredibly proud of our links and involvement with the broader Chawton community, such as the Chawton Village Fireworks and close relationships with both Jane Austen and Chawton House. As a supportive and inclusive school community we are fortunate to have a vibrant network of support from our families to help evolve the experience and opportunities for our children.

The children have an active role in supporting the CSSG, helping to get involved with events, ideas, how and where to spend funds raised helping to develop their team collaboration abilities, communication skills and most importantly to empower them to share their views and be part of evolving and supporting their school.

We take great pride in ensuring the children have fun whilst raising funds for the school and without the generosity of every member of the school community, from buying raffle tickets, supporting events, running stalls at one of the fayres and volunteering time and support it simply would not be possible. Every contribution or donation directly impacts and makes a difference to the children here at Chawton and we are unbelievably proud to be part of it.

The CSSG Committee

The CSSG committee is made up of a fabulous bunch of parent volunteers who all have children at the school. We meet throughout the year at The Greyfriars’s in Chawton – it is very informal and a wonderful inclusive and supportive team. We also have a great team of class reps from each year group who work closely with the CSSG committee to help share news, event details and rally up support to help run the events throughout the year.

We are always looking to welcome new members to the committee and if you would like to get involved then do get in touch and say hello at the upcoming events, meetings and join ClassList.

Ticket Payments and Donations for Events

All payments for events is done via ClassList, an app which is quick and easy to get tickets or make donations. You can sign up here: https://classlist.page.link/szcSiJ6KrTiQvDcU7

Please do not hesitate to get in touch if you have any questions. You can contact Becci or Rachel via Classlist or the school office.

CSSG Programme of Events 22-23

Woohoo! Yes! Cake Sales are back!

On Friday 10th March @ 3pm Oak & Maple Class will be selling an array of goodies, so please bring your pennies along and enjoy a treat.

Parents of Oak & Maple Class we need you to embrace baking, bringing the treats and running the stall – please work your magic to make this a success.

All homemade bakes must comply with Natasha’s Law and a quick form needs to be completed to list the ingredients. It is super easy and copies can be picked up from the office.

We know you know…but no nuts please!

Thanks so much for supporting this and let the baking fun begin.
