Chawton C.E.

Primary School

'Love, Courage and Fellowship'

Welcome to our school

Welcome to Chawton CE Primary School; a school at the heart of a small rural community.

We hope that this site will provide you with a flavour of life in our school; keeps you up to date on any news and provides you with the opportunity to share your views.

Chawton CE Primary is a welcoming and nurturing school where the whole community works together to provide a happy, safe environment for all of its children. Our gates open at 8.30am for all children, with registration taking place at 8.45am. The end of the school day is 3pm for Reception and Key Stage One children and 3.15pm for children in Key Stage Two. This means that children in Oak and Maple class (Early Years and Key Stage One) attend school for 32 hours and Chestnut and Sycamore class (Key Stage Two) attend school 32.5 hours.

Jesus said "I have come so that you might have life –life in all its fullness." John 10:10

Jesus encouraged all his children to live life in all its’ fullness and at Chawton this is exactly what we do! Through our core values of love, courage and fellowship, and with an enquiry approach to our inter-disciplinary curriculum, our children enjoy learning about themselves, about others and the world which we are guardians of. We nurture a love of learning, celebrate courage to persevere in learning and fellowship through collaboration and recognising each other’s strengths and special qualities.

‘Be kind, never give up and work together.’

Our successes are due to great teamwork. We include in this our dedicated staff, children, governors, parents and the local community. Parents play an active part in all aspects of school life, and we look forward to the possibility of you joining our school family.

We encourage you to browse around the website and to visit our Facebook page  where you will find a celebration of the activities that typically enrich our curriculum.

If you would like paper copies of any of the information on the school website, please do ask. We will provide this free of charge.

Choosing a school is one of the most difficult decisions you will have to make as parents, and it is important to us that you feel positive about what we have to offer and that we suit your family's personality. If you have not already had opportunity to do so, please do contact us to arrange a visit. We look forward to meeting you!

With very best wishes,

Mrs Zoe Doyle

Interim Headteacher/DSL/SENCo

We have no car parking provision on the school premises; on road parking is available outside the school gate, or in the village car park. We have a ramp from the road, leading onto our playground. There is limited wheelchair access to the ground floor of the school and no access to the upper floor. We have children's WCs on the ground floor and one WC which has access for wheelchairs.
Disabled visitors requiring access to the school are strongly advised  to contact the school in advance of their visit to agree access arrangements.
