Testimonials

Thanks to everyone involved for the new Lego, dance and gardening clubs.   My daughter has settled in well at Amery. I’m so grateful that the school set up sustainable before and after school clubs; as a parent in need of these, it was great that I could send my her to her local school. I think she flourished at Chawton Primary and I’m forever indebted to all of the wonderful people who looked after and taught her.

What a wonderful school; a lovely community feel, supportive teachers and happy children! Couldn’t be happier with our choice of school.

I am so thankful to have such an amazing school like this one. Whenever I have any worries the staff sort it out straight away. I am in year six and am ready to go to secondary school confidently. With all the Covid-19 business...the school has been great!

Chawton C of E school has been fantastic for our family and my two children love going to school every single day! I think my children feel very safe, valued and nurtured there. The school and village feels a very special place and I think all the staff at the school are extremely positive and committed to developing my children’s learning, emotional and social development. The outdoor learning days seem a real hit with my children and they also tell me how much they love being friends with children in different year groups as well as their own classes. It has a real sense of community.

year 2 and year 4 parent

I love Chawton CE Primary school because it's a small school and everyone is kind and caring. All the teachers are friendly and make learning really fun and exciting. Outdoor Learning is also fun because you get to go outside and have a day in your own clothes.

I'm not great with words, but feel truly blessed that we found this school. Thanks so much for your help with our boys. New to the area, the school has provided both our children with the support and stability required for a smooth transition. Not only have they integrated well within their classes, they have flourished in their new environment.

I love Chawton Primary School because we are all friendly and nice.Even though our school is small, we are mighty!

year 5 pupil

My child loves her school and is happy at Chawton. We have never had a day when she has not been enthusiastic to get there in the morning, and she always has a lot to say about her learning. A bonus of being a smaller school is the lovely sense of community; all the children know each other and mix well together. The fact that the school incorporates its village & rural surroundings in the children’s learning is great. They learn that they are part of much a larger world as well as being a pupil at Chawton.

Chawton School is the most wonderful place. When things are tough the staff are always there for us; they listen to your ideas and they help you out. I love this school so much and I find it safe and warming...it is like your house. It is so special. Chawton School is one of my favourite places to be.

Chawton School offers a fabulous foundation for learning. It is a safe, caring environment with strong core values and leadership. We have seen the children be supported individually in their academic studies and nurtured throughout their school life to become the best they can be whilst being kind, well mannered and inspired for their next journey.

I love Chawton school because all the teachers and students are very caring and kind. Chawton school teaches that no-one is perfect, but always try to be the best you can be. All the teachers and students also respect everyone's differences and make them feel safe and secure. Everyone at Chawton school learns to show our 3 school values: Love, Courage and Fellowship.

Chawton School is a truly special place. It is everything I always hoped for for my girls: nurturing, friendly and with a simply wonderful team. Sarah is an absolutely fantastic headmistress and I have been so impressed with everything she does and the way she approaches all her decisions and the children. My girls were given the best introduction to school life I could have hoped for with the wonderful year R team and Mrs Mason’s talent in everything she does is already so very evident with my girls arriving home each day full of songs, new words and calculations and joy. I am so grateful for all the school does and it is a privilege to be a parent with children at the school.

From the minute we took a tour of Chawton CE Primary School nine years ago, we knew it was the right place for our children. From its tight-knit community, to the way that children across the school interacted respectfully; from its care for learning and for the individual, to the beautiful rural setting with all the opportunities for outdoor learning and sports, it ticked all the boxes. And it hasn’t let us down. Children are supported to grow into their own personalities and to explore their academic abilities. A jewel in the crown of Alton’s primary schools.

My daughter goes into school with such enthusiasm and excitement.  A true reflection of the abilities of the staff to provide a caring, nurturing and fun learning environment.  The school has such a supportive community spirit which we immediately felt part of.  The surroundings are beautiful and I am so impressed that the school takes full advantage of the area for lots of outdoor learning and fun.

Our eldest child is now at secondary school and our youngest is in Year 3. Chawton CE Primary School has always been a caring, close community where each student is valued and treated as the diverse individuals they are. Our eldest child experienced a range of friendship issues when younger and these were always dealt with in a considerate and constructive way. Our youngest loves school and is highly motivated to attend. We are now working closely with Mrs Goldsworthy and the team of staff to support our youngest, who has special educational needs. On a practical level, we benefit from the school bus service and Before and After School Club, which are essential to us, due to work commitments. The entire staff team can always be approached and demonstrate experience and enthusiasm, always greeting our children with a smile!

My children (yr3&5) are thriving at Chawton. They especially love outdoor classroom

days. We’re very fortunate to have a wonderful natural space in which to learn and kind, inspiring teachers. It’s great to watch the children becoming more confident and independent each term.
