Home Learning
We prefer to call homework, home learning! Our children are learning and we don't want them to see this as 'work' or a chore. It should be exciting, fun and life-long.
Each class brings home a 'Learning Quest overview' each half term or when they start a new Learning Quest. The home learning is not worksheet based as there is much research that indicates that this has no impact on children's learning. Instead there are activities for children to complete with their family, such as building, playing games, going on days out and making cakes! These activities are complemented by an expectation that children will read at least 5x a week and record this in their reading diary, learn their number facts and practise spelling words from key spelliong patterns. These overviews can be found on the class pages.
